A message from Dr. David and Dr. Sally Hartenstein, May 2026

Dear Patients and Friends,

After 43 wonderful years of serving Hampton and the seacoast community, the time has come for us to share some news. We have officially retired from our practice, Hampton Eyecare Associates, as of May 1, 2026.

Many of our loyal patients have been with us since we opened our first office in Hampton, as Drs. Hartenstein and Hartenstein in 1983. We merged our practice with Dr. Raymond Alie in 1986 to form Hampton Eyecare Associates. We have cherished the opportunity to watch your families grow and to be your partners in eye care. You have also watched as our own family grew and evolved over the years, and it is with utmost pride and pleasure that we welcomed our son Dr. Craig and his future wife Dr. Presley into our practice in 2017.

The new owners, Drs. Craig and Presley, share our deep commitment to competent and friendly patient care. We are grateful to be able to leave our patients in such capable, caring hands. You can expect the same high-quality service from our doctors and staff which you’ve come to know over the past four decades.

Your records will remain securely at this location, and all upcoming appointments will proceed as scheduled. If you have any questions, please contact the office at 603-926-5471.

Thank you again for 43 rewarding and unforgettable years. We look forward to seeing you around town. We plan on staying in the area to fully enjoy time with our 4 grandchildren, play some golf, do some gardening, and still continue to decorate the office (Dr. Sally’s specialty!)

With gratitude and best wishes,

Dr. David and Dr. Sally Hartenstein
